David Shuttleworth – Passionate About People, Community and Public Service

David has been a proud member of the South Leicestershire Conservative Association for around three years and currently serves as a Parish Councillor on Countesthorpe Parish Council.

For David, community spirit isn’t just a phrase – it’s something to believe in, work for and put into practice.

He firmly believes that strong communities are built when people get involved, support one another and work together towards a common goal.
Whether it’s helping a local organisation, listening to residents’ concerns or finding ways to make a difference, David believes that every contribution counts and that positive change starts with people who are willing to get involved.

Now retired, David has dedicated many years of his life to serving others. One of his most rewarding commitments was spending over 17 years working with and helping to run an Air Cadet Squadron. This experience played an important role in shaping his future, helping to set him on the path towards a fulfilling career in the Royal Air Force, where he served as a Police Officer.

That same sense of duty, commitment and service continues to influence David today.  He believes that experience matters, that listening is just as important as speaking, and that everyone has something valuable to contribute to their community
