Leicestershire County Council : Broughton Astley Division
Harborough District Council: Dunton Ward
Neil Bannister says, “I have lived in South Leicestershire with my wife and two daughters for over thirty years. I take great pride in my local community and have been honoured to serve as your District Councillor for the last 12 years. I have served on village hall committees and on Parish Councils before being elected to the District Council. I have been a candidate for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Giving back in some modest way to the community which has been so good to my family and myself is my incentive to helping others".
Neil is a lawyer with the Crown Prosecution Service in Leicester and since taking partial retirement now works 3 days a week, freeing up more time for his Council Duties.
His wife is a Senior Radiographer working in our community hospitals. Their two daughters both live and work locally.
In addition to serving as your local District Councillor he has also been Leader of the Council and is currently, the Chairman.
He works hard to ensure your voice is heard to deliver the best local services for the residents in the Ward he proudly represents.
Neil was also elected to the County Council in May 2021 ensuring for the residents that whatever the local issue, be it with the District or with the County, he is always there to help.
