Maggie was born, educated and lives here in the community she continues to represent.
She is married to Neil and they have two grown up sons William and Jonathan.
Maggie has deep rooted interests in the local community. She has been a member of Thurlaston Parish Council for over 20 years and also regularly attends Huncote Parish Council.
She actively organises, participates and supports local events.
Maggie understands and appreciates resident’s concerns because they directly affect her and her family who also live in the Ward.
Maggie is a patient at one of the local GP surgeries, understands the pressures of housing developments and experiences the increasing levels of traffic and associated problems.
She strongly believes it is vital for our villages to keep their individual identity especially as the district is facing significant economic challenges and a massive national infrastructure rail freight application.
Maggie will ensure all concerns and views are represented at all levels.
Maggie was first elected to Blaby District Council as Ward Member in 2011.
Since that time, she has held the Cabinet Portfolio positions for Community Services and Finance, People and Performance.
She is currently Deputy Leader, a position held since 2015.
In May 2018 Maggie was elected as County Councillor for the Stoney Stanton and Croft Division.
She is currently Cabinet Support Member for the Highways, Transportation and Flooding Portfolio.
Before this she worked for Age UK Leicestershire and Rutland as a Residential Care and Nursing Homes Advisor.
