Clive Grafton-Reed has lived in Broughton Astley since 1988, moving to the area to work in Rugby. He has been married to Julie, a special needs teacher, for over 33 years, has two grown up children who went through Orchard Primary, Thomas Estley and Lutterworth College. He is a Chartered Engineer in the IET and an Associate Engineering Fellow of Rolls-Royce.
Clive has been an active Parish Councillor for over 25 years, save for a short gap to gain a Master in Business Administration. He is currently Chair, of the council and led the successful adoption of the Neighbourhood Plan in 2014, ensuring residents views were reflected in the successful control of new housing in the village. Clive has a long involvement in leisure provision as a Trustee and then Chair of Harborough District Leisure Trust which oversaw the running of Market Harborough and Lutterworth centres. Clive used that knowledge to write the specification for the Broughton Astley Leisure centre which was subsequently built, opening in February 2020.
Clive has been active with the Broughton Alive Community group who run the Summer Carnival, the Christmas Fayre and the August Party in the Park. This group was also responsible for securing over £11,000 of County Council funding to support volunteer activities in the Parish during the Covid pandemic.
