Blaby District Council: Narborough and Littlethorpe
Nigel Grundy firmly believes in community values and has held various volunteer roles in supporting our communities.
He has been a Special Police Constable and more recently, a School Governor and Chair of Governors at Greystoke Primary School, Narborough where his daughter attended.
During the Pandemic, Nigel delivered food parcels and cooked hot food for residents in his Ward.
He regularly goes out with the local Womble’s to help with keeping our area free of litter. “It is fantastic to womble along, chatting to like-minded volunteers, whilst keeping your eyes peeled for that next bit of litter to pick up. Just an hour a week spent litter picking can make such a difference”
Nigel has been a Parish Councillor for over seven years and spent four years as the Chairman of his local Parish Council. “Being a Parish Councillor is a fantastic way of both helping the community and finding out resident’s views. The Parish Council really can make a difference and I genuinely enjoy being part of it, from the annual fete to being in the remembrance parade that I take part in without fail”
Nigel was elected to Blaby District Council in 2019.
He is now in his second year as the portfolio holder responsible for Neighbourhood Services and Assets. “I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges of being a Blaby District Councillor over the last four years.
