Harborough District Council: Misterton

John and his wife Jane moved to the District in 2002, and both of our now adult sons, went to local schools.

Prior to being elected to Harborough District Council in 2016, he was a Parish Councillor in both Cosby and later Broughton Astley.

He was a Police Officer with Leicestershire Constabulary for over 30 years, during which time John was based in Lutterworth for 6 years, so he has a sound knowledge of both the District and the issues that are unique to a large rural area.

Since retiring from the Police Force in 2010 John has worked in the private sector and currently works on a part time basis for a district based vehicle breakdown and recovery company.

During his time as your District Councillor, he has maintained a close working relationship with all the Parish Councils in the Ward, as well as being accessible to residents and businesses, with a commitment to raise issues on their behalf and assist where he can.
